For too many seasons, “Chair” shippers – aka the ‘Gossip Girl‘ fans who want Chuck together with Blair – were left to wonder: Will they or won’t they?

Last year those shippers got their wish, and Chuck and Blair proceeded to make for very hot ‘Gossip’ indeed. But now there is talk that the oh-so-perfect romance will be oh-so-over by season’s end – and all due to Chuck committing a “horrible” and unforgivable act, says E!’s Kristin.

Is Chair in fact losing its legs?

Besieged by fretting fan bases, ‘Gossip Girl’ boss Josh Schwartz Tweeted back “Trust” – an economy of words that hardly hushed the angry mob.

‘Gossip Girl’ enthusiast Daniela, for one, emailed me to ask, “Can you offer any reassurance or new information on Chuck and Blair without resorting to word choices only meant to give fans a bad case of jitters?”

To Daniela and friends, I bring you an exclusive response from executive producer Stephanie Savage. Whether it simmers your jitters is out of my hands.

“Last year, Blair made a pledge to Chuck: ‘The worst thing you’ve ever done, the darkest thought you’ve ever had. I’ll stand by you through anything.’ Well this spring, this oath is tested,” Savage tells Fancast.

No one at the show is officially confirming the rumored break-up – let alone what Chuck might do to precipitate it. Instead, Savage only teases: “Will Blair stand by her man? Or has Chuck finally played one game too many? Tune in and find out.”

What do you think, ‘Gossip’mongers? What could Chuck possibly do to make Blair break her oath? I mean, this is Chuck Bass after all. What misdeed has he not yet done?

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has been linked to model Jennifer Akerman after the pair were allegedly seen at a party together.

The actor, who plays Nate Archibald in the CW show, and Akerman reportedly sparked rumours of a romance when they attended an event in Hollywood on January 15.

Speaking to In Touch Weekly, an insider said: “They’ve known each other for a while, but now it looks like they’re dating. Jennifer is adorable and exactly his type.”

Crawford, who previously dated Carrie Underwood, recently suggested that he was happy being single, telling Glamour that “when it happens, it happens”.

Akerman is the sister of Couples Retreat and Watchmen actress Malin Akerman. Representatives for Crawford and Akerman have yet to comment.

As anyone follower of “Gossip Girl” knows, Jenny Humphrey has a wild side. The rebellious teen knows how to crash a society gala, run away from home and has even been known to engage in a little drug dealing on the side.

And though Taylor Momsen, the 16-year-old actress who plays her, is just an actress, she does seem to share her character’s love of rebel rousin’.

“To be honest,” she tells The Times of London in a recent interview, “I don’t f***ing care. I didn’t get into this to be a role model. So I’m sorry if I’m influencing your kids in a way that you don’t like, but I can’t be responsible for their actions. I don’t care.”

Alrighty, then! The black eyeliner-loving actress — who started her career at age 3 in a Shake ‘N Bake commercial — is also the lead singer and songwriter for her band, The Pretty Reckless. Her fashion style, she tells the Times, is “grunge meets Chanel.”

• On the popularity of “Gossip Girl”: “It’s insane. I literally can’t go out without being interrupted. It’s wild.”

• On being a finalist for the lead in “Hannah Montana”: “Honestly, if I’d have ended up as Hannah Montana, I don’t know if the show would have gone as well. I probably would have told them all to go f*** themselves by the time I hit 11. And I don’t know how that would have gone down. It’s great for Miley, but I really like where I am right now and I feel really fortunate to be able to really be myself.”
• On hanging out with older people: “I have, like, no friends my age.”
• On fashion: “I loooove Chanel. And YSL. And Balmain. And Alexander Wang.”
• On her grungy look: “My favorite blogs are where you get the mothers saying, ‘She’s the worst influence on my daughter, I would never let my daughter dress like that’, or, ‘This girl’s such a whore, she’s a slut’. And I’m, like, you’re a mother! And I’m 16.”
• On accessories: “I like wearing garters. Apparently people think that’s a big deal, but my tights won’t stay up. So whatever you want to do with that information …”

• On the price of fame: “I can’t try on a jacket without people taking pictures and posting them online. I mean, I’m 16 and I can’t get away with anything. My mother finds out everything. Other teenagers — they have lots of freedom!”

Now, that’s something to gossip about.

Good news if you are a fan of Leighton Meester and Nina Dobrev: Their executive producer has promised to “work on” getting these real-life friends to guest star on each other’s CW shows.

Here’s what Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl executive producer Bob Levy tells me:

“I love that idea!” Levy said of having Nina guest star on Gossip Girl and Leighton guest star on Vampire Diaries some time in the future. The idea came up while I was chatting with Nina and Levy at a recent press event, and Levy said: “We’re gonna work on that. You have my word.”

Leighton and Nina became friends while shooting the upcoming big-screen movie The Roommate, set to come out later this year. And Nina told me she would jump at the chance to make a guest appearance on the Upper East Side. “Oh my god, I would love to be on Gossip Girl,” Nina said. “I feel like it’s hard to do because we’re both so busy. But I would love to, and I would for her to be on our show. Leighton would make a great vampire, I think!”

The hitch, of course, is working out the logistics, given that Vampire Diaries shoots in Atlanta and Gossip Girl shoots in New York. “The trick is tearing Nina away from Atlanta,” Levy explained. “She’s in almost every scene of every episode. So it’s hard scheduling-wise to work that out. But I love that pitch! Good pitch. We’re gonna work to make it happen.”

Patricia in Boston: At first I was just sad about the Chuck-Blair breakup news, but now I am freaking the hell out. Is it true that the horrible thing Chuck does is sleep with Jenny Humphrey? I’ll never watch Gossip Girl again if that’s what happens!
Well, don’t delete that Gossip Girl season pass from your TiVo just yet, because sources assure us that this particular rumor is totally false. So, while we can’t tell you yet what bad thing Chuck does do, we can assure that you, no, Chuck does not sleep with Jenny. Whew.

Lauren in New York City: I’m so sad about Chuck and Blair breaking up on Gossip Girl! Anything new on that?
Ed Westwick himself says of Gossip Girl’s upcoming storylines, “It all gets set on its side. Everything goes upside down. Things are going to get even more dramatic than they always are.” And Gossip boss Josh Schwartz tweeted, “Trust. #ChuckandBlair.” Believe the man. Josh is the one who made Chuck and Blair so awesome in the first place, and he wouldn’t be breaking them up unless it was part of a greater plan, right?

Chloe in Grand Island, Neb.: I approve of the casting of Billy Baldwin (although John Slattery would have been ideal) as Serena’s dad on Gossip Girl, but I now have to know before I get too excited. Is Daddy van der Woodsen completely evil, or does he have any redeeming qualities?
We’re told we’ll see that William van der Woodsen does want to get back into Serena and Eric’s life on Gossip Girl. That doesn’t mean he’s a pure good guy—his motives for seeing them could be totally dark side—but at least he’s no longer totally dissing his own children.

TAYLOR MOMSEN is relieved she lost the role of HANNAH MONTANA to MILEY CYRUS – because she would have struggled to live up to the teen idol ideal.

The Gossip Girl star was just nine years old when she and Cyrus were selected as two of the final three young actresses in the running for the Disney role. But now that she’s living the rock ‘n’ roll life with her band The Pretty Reckless‎, Momsen is grateful she was cut from the auditions for the family-friendly programme.

Momsen explains, “Honestly, if I’d have ended up as Hannah Montana, I don’t know if the show would have gone as well. I probably would have told them all to go f**k themselves by the time I hit 11. And I don’t know how that would have gone down. It’s great for Miley, but I really like where I am right now and I feel really fortunate to be able to really be myself.”
