This spring, Broadway’s razzle-dazzle hit musical CHICAGO is pleased to welcome “Gossip Girl” star Matthew Settle as he makes his Broadway stage debut in the role of slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn for an eight-week limited engagement, Monday, April 19, 2010 through Sunday, June
13, 2010 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.). Matthew Settle currently stars as Rufus on the CW Network’s acclaimed drama “Gossip Girl.” The show, now in its third season, was developed from The New York Times best-selling novels of the same name by producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (both known for their success from “The OC”). Settle starred as lead character Jacob Wheeler in 2005’s TNT epic six-week television event, “Into the West,” from executive producer Steven Spielberg. The series was nominated for 16 Emmy Awards. He is also known for his unforgettable role as Capt. Ronald Speirs in HBO’s Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning mini-series “Band of Brothers.” Other television credits include “Brothers & Sisters,” “The Practice” and “ER.”
In film, Settle will next star in Ex-Terminators with Jennifer Coolidge and Heather Graham. Past film credits include Callie Khouri’s film adaptation of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, in which he starred opposite Ashley Judd; Jonathan Mostow’s World War II submarine drama U-571 and a critically lauded portrayal of Warren Beatty in Peter Bogdanovich’s The Mystery of
Natalie Wood. Born in North Carolina, Settle moved to New York City at age eighteen to pursue acting. There his talent was recognized by the legendary producer/lawyer Jay Julien, whose clients included such brilliant “locals” as Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Christopher Walken. Julien awarded Settle a three-year scholarship with renowned acting teacher William Esper, which in turn lead to Settle’s first role in Louis L’Amour’s “Shaughnessy” for CBS-TV.

Rutherford and Matthew Settle, who play married couple Lily and Rufus Humphrey, have reportedly become closer since both going through divorces recently.
The actress told E! Online: “We love each other… as friends! You do it so much in the office that you don’t need to do it when you go home.”
Rutherford also commented on Sandra Bullock’s recent adoption of a child from New Orleans, saying: “I think it’s such a wonderful thing… to have this beautiful little boy in her life and focus on him. It’s certainly helped me through a tough time.”

Gossip Girl star Matthew Settle has said it’s ‘tough’ not seeing his daughter every day following his marriage split.
The 40-year-old announced his separation from wife Naama Nativ last month after four years of marriage. The couple are parents to one-year-old daughter Aven.
Settle admitted that he is ‘settling’ into single fatherhood but said he is missing his little girl.
Talking about Aven’s recent first birthday, he said to In Touch: ‘It was good! I put a candle on top of a red velvet cupcake, and I was trying to show her how to blow it out.’
He added: ‘It’s not easy going through such a big change. One of the toughest things is not seeing Aven every morning. That was our time together, I would wake up in the morning and play music for her.’

Kelly Rutherford attended the premiere of Discovery Channel’s Life at Lincoln Center in NYC Thursday night where she talked openly to reporters about her divorce, young children and her recently single co-star Matthew Settle.
The set of Gossip Girl is no stranger to stars hooking up off camera — Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, and Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan — so maybe there’s hope for the moms and dads on the show as well!
“I mean they’re all pretty attractive, amazing people so I don’t know why they wouldn’t fall in love with each other,” Kelly, who plays Lily Van der Woodsen, confessed to reporters.
The recently single mom has a lot in common with her co-star and on-screen husband, Matthew, who is going through a divorce himself right now.
So, they’re both single…
